In ancient oceanic mythology, oyster shells were believed to be the hidden cradles of sea-born goddesses and sirens, protectors of deep-sea secrets. Their pearlescent interiors symbolized mystery and transformation, said to form when the sea’s sorrow solidified into something beautiful. Legends told of sirens who wore fragments of sacred oyster shells as armour or charms, each piece whispering forgotten songs of the tides. To find a whole oyster shell washed ashore was considered an omen—either of love destined to bloom or a warning from the deep.
